OneThing
A quiet space to commit to one meaningful task; not a list, not a schedule.
Why OneThing?
Most productivity tools ask: "What to do?"
OneThing asks: "What to finish?"
It helps you focus on one real priority, and reflect as you work through it.
How It Works
- Set one meaningful task, with or without a target date.
- Use the space to think, explore, and reflect as you move forward.
- Optionally receive quiet encouragement or prompts.
- Return to past focuses or schedule a note into the future.
Not a Planner. Not a Journal.
OneThing sits between planning and reflection, a calm space to anchor yourself to a single point of meaning. You can revisit it daily, or just when you need to re-center.
Your Data, Your Choice
You can use OneThing without logging in. Everything stays in your browser. But if you'd like to access your notes across devices, you can sign in anytime to sync.
Privacy by Design
Your data is encrypted before it's stored using a key that's kept completely separate from the database. Even if the database is breached, your data stays unreadable without that key.
Only our backend logic can decrypt your data when needed, not our team. And if you want even more control, Local-Only mode keeps everything on your device, no sync, no servers.
Coming soon: Full end-to-end encryption, where only you will ever have the key.
Optional AI Companion
If you choose, OneThing can offer quiet, thoughtful nudges based on what you write. The AI never leads, it follows your tone and stays out of your way.
Pricing
OneThing is free to use, no signup required.
Sync across devices is free for all logged-in users.
A Plus plan is coming soon, offering optional upgrades like task history, search, filters, contexts, public sharing, image uploads and more, for those who want to go deeper or support the future of OneThing.
